Your Role as Controller:

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead the daily accounting operations and financial reporting activities while managing a 5-person accounting team. Your responsibilities will span across:

  • Monthly and year-end closing
  • General ledger oversight
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting support
  • Work-in-progress (WIP) and backlog reporting
  • Multi-state union and non-union payroll oversight
  • Internal financial controls and process improvements

You’ll also be a key player in shaping the company’s financial strategy while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and construction industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger functions
  • Prepare monthly financials, WIP schedules, and variance analysis
  • Lead annual audits and assist in budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure cash flow management and reconciliations
  • Supervise and develop accounting team members
  • Oversee intercompany transactions across multiple entities
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll compliance and reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 


Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Supervisor
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, job costing, and WIP
  • Experience with Sage 300 (Timberline), QuickBooks, FCS, or similar systems
  • Background in construction industry accounting strongly preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

Location and Schedule:

  • In Office at Corporate Headquarters: Pittsburgh, PA 15205
  • Monday-Friday: 8-hour day shift
  • Must be able to reliably commute or plan relocate before starting date

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year
