Job Responsibilities:

The role of the Vice President and General Manager is to provide strong leadership for Scalo Solar Solutions in growing revenue and operational performance, with focus on growing the solar business unit within the Scalo Companies. This position requires extensive experience in electrical work and solar industry experience to effectively oversee all aspects of commercial solar projects from inception to completion.

Reporting & Relationships:

The Vice President and General Manager reports directly to the Executive Management Team, including the CEO, COO, and CFO of Scalo Companies. They will oversee all team members within Scalo Solar, including sales, estimating, and operations teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership to the organization with a positive attitude and calm demeanor
  • Maintain company-owned solar arrays and monitor their performance
  • Review all bids and estimates, leveraging technical expertise in both electrical and solar system design and installation.
  • Lead the Sales and Operations Department, ensuring seamless hand-off processes from sales to operations to optimize customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with the Estimating and Project Management teams to ensure project success.
  • Prepare for new projects to preemptively address potential issues and enhance project outcomes.
  • Evaluate and streamline internal processes to improve operational efficiency and revenue generation.
  • Oversee project administration and ensure compliance with engineering, permitting, and contract requirements.
  • Monitor shop drawing and full design packages for Engineering Stamp and permitting, and submittal process, and contract interpretation and administration
  • Administer any in-progress work order changes, approvals, and project close-out process
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning among the team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship to the solar team.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements and industry trends in solar energy.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations across all operations.

Job Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related business field
  • Experience with financial management and strategic planning
  • Experience working with electrical installation and wiring
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and solar industry practices
  • Experience in solar system production analysis and financial modeling 
  • Proficiency in reading architectural and electrical drawings
  • Should be familiar with, or have experience in, PV design, including string sizing, wire sizing, inverter sizing and AC/DC ratio, and data communication & commissioning of all systems
  • Maintain an understanding of the latest trends in technology in the solar industry
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift equipment, and perform physical tasks as required
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members

Preferred:

  • NABCEP PV Installation certification is a strong plus
  • Strong understanding of the solar industry’s incentives and tax subsidies with the ability to prepare financial models
  • Experience with Sage Timberline estimating and project management software

 

Salary: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
