Job Responsibilities:

Scalo Inc seeks an experienced AutoCAD Technician/Submittal Coordinator with a keen eye for detail, proven proficiency with the latest versions of AutoCAD, and the administrative skills needed to support the sales department and Scalo Solar Solutions. This person will be responsible for all the post-sale administrative duties, including the creation of shop drawings. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for post sale administrative functions including but not limited to warranty registration, shop drawings/product submittals, as built drawings, managing submittal log.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate roofing plans for sales department and clients.
  • Assist the Solar Company with various Electrical Code projects and drawings
  • Solar Photovoltaic Design & Layout, consisting of:
    • Combining CAD layers of Roof Plans, Electrical roof plans and Mechanical roof plans to determine every penetration, obstruction and mechanical unit that affects the potential layout of a solar array.  
  • Act as a liaison to the sales and operations department to ensure a proper hand off from sales to operations to provide the best customer experience possible
  • Produce accurate and timely reproductions
  • Apply industry-specific drafting codes and standards for all drawings
  • Attend weekly sales meeting, complete weekly coordinators report
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Job Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or equivalent work experience
  • High proficiency of CAD software and PC usage
  • Possess ability to interpret architectural drawings, mathematical and structural concepts, and construction methods 
  • Possess ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Possess Customer Care focus and have ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and organization skills to remain focused while managing your own schedule
  • Related computer and technical skills (Microsoft Office Required; Experience with estimating or project management programs a plus)
  • Strong and creative written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Roofing/construction industry experience or sales/estimating experience a plus
