Position Summary:

The Field Supervisor supports and provides leadership to the field teams, fostering safety, teamwork, learning, development, and discipline, resulting in efficient and professional photovoltaic system installation. The ideal candidate will work to oversee the successful completion of the project to ensure satisfaction while also managing the day-to-day activities in the field. Projects will require the Field Supervisor to successfully manage the team, schedule meetings, engage with customers, and ensure high quality results. This role requires an electrical background and experience in solar installations.


Job Responsibilities:
 

  • Supervise field teams to lead safe and efficient solar photovoltaic installations and assist Forepersons with crew leadership
  • Effectively manage all aspects of production to meet company and project goals
  •  Visit job sites daily to monitor crew progress
  • Conduct or participate in daily safety audits
  • Train field team members in safety, work skills and efficiency
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the Forepersons regarding job performance
  • Monitor quality of solar installations
  • Maintain understanding of contract information for jobs
  • Engage with customers to answer questions and provide explanations
  • Schedule daily or weekly contact with customers to review progress
  • Review plans and sites, delegate crews and do all pre-job planning including but not limited to creating site-specific safety plans and work plan efficiencies
  • Ensure crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobs
  • Submit reports and paperwork and otherwise coordinate communication between office and job sites
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, accidents, and thefts, and provide relevant documents, photos, and assessments to the office
  •  Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages, and order materials as needed
  • Participate in final inspections from the required customers, manufacturers, consultants, government agencies, etc.
  • Effectively apply and enforce Company standards, policies, and procedures 

 


Job Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of electrical or solar specific construction experience, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and commercial projects
  • Possess OSHA 30 Hour Card OR be willing to take online course within the first 30 days of employment to receive certification
  • Must possess or be willing to acquire NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and a willingness to take classes to continue educating oneself in changes to the NEC
  •  Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, and architectural plans
  • Demonstrate ability to be hyper-organized, analytical, and a critical thinker, with experience in performance improvement
  • Capable of comprehending, explaining, and presenting Solar PV system solutions to customers and problem solve for any concerns or inquiries on their behalf
  • Be self-motivated to not only complete the project autonomously, but to constantly improve their own performance and the performance of the company as a whole
  • Basic computer and technical skills and ability to learn and administer functions in KPA, MasterKey, and Workmax software systems to effectively perform duties
  • Must be willing to travel to jobsites, both local and occasionally remote locations
  • Excellent communications & customer service skills, with experience in communicating with clients and teams in the field

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and use hands for various tasks
  • Vision capabilities may include close vision
  • Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and using hand tools and power tools
  • Must perform essential job functions safely and consistently in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards

Salary: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
